In the last 2 years, Chumz has achieved more than 150K unique users with a portfolio of above 1.5b AUM I’m also involved in oversight of the communication strategy execution.

Photozuri is a merchandise printing shop in Nairobi, Kenya. I worked on an android native mobile application to aid users in making custom merchandise designs as well as placing orders for production of the same. I was entrenched in the end to end design and discovery process specializing in user research, data driven interaction design and front end implementation. I managed a team of 1 user researcher, an in-house front end developer a remote back end developer as well as a production and delivery team of three members. This role helped me hone my skills in creating seamless and intuitive user interfaces, team management, audience research and insights generation, visual design and presentation skills. Redesigning the ordering process increased orders by more than 200% in frequency and value and improved the user experience keeping Photozuri in business during Covid19 lockdown season.

Blaze by Safaricom I mentored a team of 8 members including a client service manager, 1 creative director, 1 art director, 3 designers and 3 media planners. My task was to synthesize research insights, package and market a new product for youth under the age of 26 years. In the age of internet and self employment, we created (BYOB) By Your Own Boss; a platform that empowered its users a cost friendly tariff for data, voice and SMS as well as connecting them to mentors who empowered their arts and business skills. Through data driven media planning and creative execution, we achieved over 1.2 million unique subscribers within 3 months post launch.
Lotto & Tatua 3 by Oxygen8 I supervised a team of 2 account managers, 2 media planners, 2 media compliance officers and a parallel content creation team. I spearheaded delivery of 'Lotto' and 'Lotto Foundation'; a 6 from 49 and bonus ball product as well as the launch and delivery of 'Tatua 3'; a marginal utility concept product. I redefined media engagement through partnering with media houses on joint venture contracts. This allowed me to match media reach and media spends to ticket sales increasing return on ad spends and generally ROI indices by more than 300%. I also managed winner queries, on- air conversation briefs and winner testimonial shoots for TV, radio and social media.

My main duties included planning and facilitating marketing communications in Kenya for Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Keringet and Dasani brands of The Coca- Cola Company. These involved: 1. Identifying youth forums and analysing their behavioral characteristics and media consumption habits. 2. Analysing competitive intelligence for the beverage industry in Kenya. 3. Researching and generating insights on the target audience’s purchasing habits with a close focus on the Kenyan youth. 4. Developing 360 connections media strategies, annual flow plans and budgets, daily running schedules, tracking and reporting on Synthesis, preparing and presenting Message Management decks, tracking media productivity in collaboration with The Coca- Cola Business Unit Agency Council team. 5. Engaging media owners in creative media buying negotiations and ensuring I deliver to the most competitive rate per audience in the various advertising platforms.

I also spearheaded execution of below the line activations with hawkers in traffic snarl- ups in major towns and market places in Kenya which significantly increased sales volume of Orbit professional and Juicy Fruit brands by Mars Wrigley.
